Sony NEX-5 Micro Four Thirds

Sony finally brings their Sony NEX-5 micro four third into the interchangeable lens cameras market. Canon SD4000 IS may going to lose its ground against this NEX-5 mini DSLR. Sony's effort on this NEX-series really noticeable from their 16mm F/2.8 lens, being small but having the APS-C sized sensor with 14.2 megapixels Exmor R sensor you've probably seen in their high class Sony A550.

This feature combined in Sony NEX-5 specification would meand a better noise reduction system and improvement in low light scene captures. You can capture up to ISO 1600 and still encounter very very few noise in the images. And this mean great low light capability NEX-5 have. The large sensor have some part in making the NEX-5 to be a big hit in the future with defocusing effects of backgrounds allowed by shorter depth of field on the scene. Therefore, it is very useful in macro shooting or portrait taking.

Sony NEX-5 also gives various special shooting modes, you can have a panoramic style scene with Sweep Panorama, that takes 7 rapid shots in a second. The low light scene can also be taken without the significant need of tripod with their Handheld Twilight. You can also use NEX-5 HDR shot with details in both, the bright and dark region in images. If the price of $650 would be too high for you, there are Canon SD4000 with f/2.0 lens sold at $350 as an option.

Canon SD4000IS with HS System

Canon will add a new product into their Digital Elph line soon. Named Canon Powershot SD4000IS that apply a new back illuminated CMOS sensor that is the first to arrive in their Digital Elph series. The highlight of this 10 megapixels SD4000IS were said to be its f/2.0 lens that made them stand on the same position as Canon S90.

Other feature that might boost Canon Sd4000 popularity will be the High Sensitivity feature that will be loved by low light photographers. A review of Canon Powershot SD4000 stated that this HS system are consist of a high sensitivity sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor. This duo combo performance may kick the image quality of the shots taken with this Powershot camera.

SD4000IS ISO mode can go through ISO6400, with their resolution clippen to 2.5 megapixels only. The burst rate also have 8.4 fps at max, but you can use it on 3.7 fps when you feel like having a full resolution of it. It is a pretty decent camera to take a sport or moving object easily with its burst rate actually. I hope Canon will rise like what Nikon S1000PJ can achieve a while ago.

Rollei 12 Megapixel Digital Camera

Even though I'm not that interested to talk about entry level camera that people used to bring to the malls, but this Rollei new digital camera have made me have a look on it while I'm walking through a camera blog that happen to talk about it.

The reason for my interest is not because of their great specs however, but simply because they sit next to line of Samsung NX10 review articles I'm reading. Rollei CL 350 is another 12 megapixels entry level camera that enter the market this April. Compactline 350 features a generic function any slim camera might have now, like 5x Optical zoom (wide angle), a big 2.7 inch display, and HD Video recording in 720p, not to forget their 30 shooting modes that would be helpful for beginners that aren't familiar to camera manual setting.

But at least, this Rollei 350 camera design was pretty stylish (unlike GE J1050), available in silver, violet, red, pink and aluminium/titanium collors. The price of this 12 megapixels Rollei is around $133. Interested, just look it on store when you have the chance ;)
